I don't know about you but the thought of

leaving $50k, $100k or potentially $250k on the table

is more than I can bear

Having been a part of the podiatric world for over 25 years (including 12 years practicing myself), I know firsthand how important it is for podiatrists to develop secondary sources of revenue for their practices. But what I also know is that most podiatrists don't ever act on their desire to track down or develop these new sources of cash--even when those potential sources are right there for the taking.

And let's face it; with an aging population filled with Baby Boomers, and the number of people over 65 with diabetes expected to quadruple in the next 15 years, there is an unprecedented opportunity available to podiatrists who are prepared and who have a plan in place to take advantage of what's coming down the road.

Which leads me to the SafeStep Medicare Therapeutic Shoe Program.

Consider that:

  • Many of SafeStep's clients are generating some serious additional revenue each and every year by taking part in our diabetic shoe program. By this I mean that there are practices that fit over 450 pairs of shoes and generate profit -- that is, after paying for shoes and inserts -- of $90,000. While 450 pairs of shoes is certainly more than most of our clients fit, most practices do have the opportunity to generate a minimum of $50,000 profit from their shoe program, and we've got the numbers to prove it.
  • The key to generating money from your shoe program starts with understanding how many diabetic patients are in your practice that also are on Medicare. Statistically, 75-80 percent of those patients should be fit with shoes. Nationally, the percentage of diabetic patients actually fitted is less than 10 percent. Plus, in most cases, when patients are fit with shoes one year, they should get shoes in subsequent years. As a result of poor follow up, most offices are missing 30 percent of repeat business and sometimes more.
  • SafeStep has methods to help DPMs identify all of the patients in their practices who should be fit with shoes and the means to ensure that they are fit each year. The goal is to fit as many patients as possible who are already in the practice. SafeStep makes it easy to do the work that goes with providing good care and generating additional revenue. Based on our experience, a good estimate is that most offices should fit 3-4 times as many patients compared to what they currently do.
  • Don't forget that since SafeStep makes it brain-dead easy to get the necessary documentation and supporting information for Medicare through our web-based compliance documentation service, compliance is a snap. In fact, to the best of my knowledge, not one of SafeStep's clients has ever failed an audit. NOT A SINGLE ONE.
  • Plus, it doesn't end there. We also provide you with free online training, call lists, customized recall letters and stickers for annual patient reminders for new shoes. Heck, we've even got full marketing support - including patient brochures, shoe displays and ad templates - available to you at no additional cost.

Add it all up, and it's easy to see why SafeStep's diabetic shoe program is the smart choice for busy podiatrists looking to maximize their ancillary revenue.

I'd like to personally invite you to contact me directly at jwhitedpm@safestep.net to discuss your practice and the potential that SafeStep has to dramatically improve your DME income. We'll schedule 20 minutes to crunch the numbers based on your patient data (not pie-in-the-sky numbers from mega practices) and show you just how much money you're leaving on the table right now if you aren't taking full advantage of the SafeStep shoe program.

You'll be amazed at what you've been missing!
